Embird 2006
Well, I finally got around to testing the new upcoming version and it is sweet! LOL. Lots of goodies in the software some in the Digitzing part (my specialty). So far all I can say is that the software keeps on getting better and better. No fluid fills yet though! Dusan, Fluid Fills Please! As I work along with it, I will keep on writing mini lessons for all friends to view and understand some of the new features. Keep on checking: http://www.sadiasews.com/studio2006.html
Twisting the words
Remember those lost souls that could not decipher the law as it stands, could not read it as it stands, but rather they would interpret it their way, the way that suited them best…and it changed from day to day, hour to hour as it suited them…well….they are at it again. As they cannot produce any of the documents from any of the ATs and also by now many have understood that they were mistaken in their understanding of the law, they decided it is great to go after someone, anyone, just to soothe their egos. So, the latest is “Sadia is Breaking the Law, right on her website….” Oh wow! What a header and what a great piece of news. Truth is the lost should understand and read up facts before crying wolf which is their habit. They do keep their lives pretty full of chaos.
Meanwhile, what is the “law” that Sadia is breaking? Well, surprisingly some of them keep a close eye on my website (interesting little software called Weblog-keeps all info regarding who visits, who tried to hack in secure areas, who downloads etc, a must for all online businesses if they want to keep their online business safe). Anyway they discovered my “Sneak Preview” page which lists upcoming sets and they saw the word “Shadow Work”. A bit of education would have been to read up on the very same topic right here on the blog. So friends, according to some I’m breaking the law by using the term shadow work. We will know how much of a penance I will have to bear when the set is released…oh in about two days. It is an interesting technique and a very different style of embroidery.
Silence is Golden…but,
I had an email from a long time customer and a dear friend who had been touring Europe and recently returned. She was astounded to read some fo the “goings on”. As I wrote to her, I also want to write here. Friends, my goal in ME is simple. I joined this arena seven years ago and I have seen seven years of ridicule, peer pressure, joys, heart aches, slamms, you name it. Not only myself but many others (and not just digitizers, but also friends). I live by the simple rule. If I see a wrong and I do not do anything about it, then I am in agreement of it. Having said that I will apologize if some view the blog as a means of airing “dirty laundry”. This blog is my online diary of what goes on in the ME world, the educatinng to those who do not know, the place to find gossip, the time to read up on the latest techniques and the list goes on.
Independence Day
July 4th is right around the corner and as I was going through various photographs of flag pictures that I had taken I found one that seemed rather sad. The picture was taken of the flag in the next town to us. The flag itself is approximately 12 ft and it flew on the river front just short of the lock and dam. It had been donated to the city about ten years or so ago. Weather in Missouri can be devastating to anything left outside for long and this flag had tears all over it. The camera had caught the picture just as the flag was ready to unfurl and with its torn pieces it looked something unreal. And I knew when I saw the picture that it was one I needed to digitize. When dh saw the first sketch, he was not sure why I wanted a tattered flag as it really looked sad…so I embellished it a bit to give it a new life. You will find the flag here: http://www.sadiasews.com/independence2006.html
The actual flag is no longer flying as the city hopes to fly a new on one July 4th so I was even more glad that I had caught the image before it was taken down.
