AEC 2007
What a show! That is all I can say about the American Embroidery Conference 2007. And indeed it was. Dianne outdid herself again in carrying out one of the best Embroidery conferences in the United States. The classes, the evening events, the vendor mall…all were spectacular. I returned home into the early hours of the morning, tired but glad to have been part of yet another AEC and the opportunity to meet and teach so many friends from around the world. The hotel couldn’t have been any nicer with wide verandas to sit and watch the Marietta/Atlanta landscape and an old world mixed with the modern look inside. The Dance troupe performance on opening night of meet and greet was spectacular as were the Southern Belles milling about the registration desk.
My classes…what can I say. A teacher couldn’t have asked for better students. All were eager to learn and to finish their projects and the “Ah, so that is how it is done” was often heard. I have to admit the highest praise that I could have ever heard was in my Studio class….”that information paid for coming here”….Thank you all.

As far as the Logo challenge goes…my eyes were popping. I still cannot believe all the enteries and what a variety of them. I believe there were about 52 entries…Wow! Below are only a few pics of the many items that were there.

The PJ nite was fantabulous…(is that a word??) with laughter and bargaining during the Yankee swap….myself included. One very prepared registrant came with his guns and knife(fake ofcourse)…just to make sure no one stole his swap…however, a very brave lady did manage!

And the sea of RED was amazing! The wonder woman…Ina the ticket lady had tears in her eyes when she declared the raffle donation collected for Kids in Distress to be over $7000…THANK YOU so much all my friends. Hats off to all of you and Dianne for making yet another memorable AEC! My special thanks to Evanlee and Beverly for their help at my booth. Even the weather decided to be specially nice for all the northern friends and the Dogwood and Wisteria were blooming…my first look at wisteria and yes I was pleased that I had captured its beauty via pictures in the logo. All I can say…there is no other Embroidery conference as the AEC.

Thank you so much for some pictures of what I missed out on. The comments have been overwhelming, all of you should feel exhausted but pleased. Your logo looks great and each adaptation the gals made sure shows how versatile it will be to use on projects.
I missed a great one, but truly had to sit this one out as life with the children really demanded I stay home. I will be there next one.
Rest up, and oh yes, is the Wisteria set on sale on the site?
Nutmeg
Nutmeg, you were sorely missed but I completely understand. The Dogwood/Wisteria and the Secret Garden will be released in early May on the website. HUGS, Sadia
