A fair(y) use tale
I am not sure if anyone has seen my blog roll links but one of the links belongs to Susan Scafidi, a law professor very much into the Intellectual Property scene. Her blog-Counterfeit Chic has had me reading and rolling in laughter for the past several weeks, the lady has an excellent sense of humor and to the point attitude. I would strongly urge friends to read up on some of the goings on in the fashion industry which is not so very different than the ME world. The same piracy exists in literally all works…only difference that I have found is that the pirates in the ME world are a bit more rowdy bunch…just my own observation. I did read excerpts of Susan’s book: “Who Owns Culture” and I have to say that it is a great book regarding intellectual property and its protection.
Another interesting site I happened upon recently had me in fits of laughter. Whomever created the video had to have spent hours. It actually is a parody. My reasoning is that with the recent ruling of the Supreme court towards Disney’s extention of the copyright on several characters is probably the main reason for its creation. Please do watch it to see another perspective. The best place that I could find it was on You Tube where it does not take that long to upload:
As all along I have repeatedly explained the word “copyright” …..it is RESPECT.
Oh….watch out for some extreme tales of “woe is me”. Seems the individual thrives on “woe” tales…pity the ones who fall for them again and again. The latest being something to the effect of “pornography scripts”….Oh please someone help me….ROFLOL…
