Sadia’s Designs Forum:
We’ve moved! Sadia’s Designs forum is not to be confused with Sadia’s
Designs Newsletter group. The forum was hosted on Sparklit but due to several issues, I have finally moved it to Yahoo groups. The forum is a member’s only group where each month a design or collection is uploaded as well as a lesson on Embird Studio. This is a paid group and more information can be obtained here: http://www.sadiasews.com/sdforum.html
Members have access to all the designs/lessons from previous months.
Membership is for a year at a sum of $20.00. The lesson for May 2008 is using the
columns as a shading tool to create designs. The design collection for the month is based upon a variety of designs that can be used as they are or manipulated to create larger designs. I’ve always wanted some one color designs that would be tiny enough to embellish t-shirts and other garments…well, this collection was great for that.
With that in mind I decided to use the designs as a
tone on tone effect on a crepe shirt that I stitched out. Not only did the designs stitch out fast but they gave me tons of ideas like using Swaroski crystals as the centers of the tiny flowers.
Sadia’s Designs at Baker, Florida:
Friends in Florida and nearabouts would be pleased to know that I will be at Ruthie’s Notions in Baker, Florida for a two day embroidery extravaganza. I will also be releasing a spectacular collection which I’ve been working with along with a dear friend. Ruth Barnhill is the number 1 dealer for Babylock in the US and the sole distributor for “Inbro” embroidery machines. If you are in the area or planning to be in the area, do register to come. The website is: http://www.ruthiesnotions.com/ The dates are July 25, 26, 2008. Last year when I attended we had a super great time. But then Ruthie’s is known for that plus great bargains. I’m excited and looking forward to seeing friends there.
Word to the Wise:
“If you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all”…and certainly do not tell lies. Say what? LOL. Excuse me…this is just in response to a “rumor” about my destruction abilities of someone’s website….ROFLOL. [Added:The website in question can be queried here: http://whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=braeco&tld=com ] The person in her cowardice first of all boots me off “the group” because I can no longer work for “free” (I believe six years of financing another’s business and promoting it with my own finances is enough) and then portrays a “woe is me, I was wronged” picture. If anything I do, then that is to build the industry that has anything to do with machine embroidery. Enough said.
