Some while back, I received project pictures from a dear friend Gail
who most definitely gets the reward for determination and originality. I’ve posted her email and pictures of one of the most beautiful creation that I have seen.
Gail’s Email:
I bought your Kanta Lace 5 CD at the ASG Conference in 2006, I knew what I wanted to make but didn’t know how much thread to buy. I bought 7 (5500 yard cones of #1112 (purple, 40 wt Madeira thread. I resized the design to be 3inches. I made 185 hexagons between October 25, 2008 to December 2, 2008. I have the new Diamond machine and it said I stitched 225 hours and 47 minutes (5,726,675 stitches) I zigzaged them together with monofilamont thread and used double bias binding aound all the edges I wore it to our Red Hat Society Christmas Party, December 23, 2008. The design was very stable and soft considering each had almost 31000 stitches. It reminded me of what I call re-embroidered lace-beautiful. I hope you are pleased with my take on your amazing digitizing.

This has to be one of the most daunting projects ever undertaken and I am proud of Gail for her determination and creativity. Wow! Absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much Gail. I am truly in awe.

Your vest coat is absolutely stunning. You did a beautiful job. I’m sure you received many compliments. Happy New Year… Joan N
Thanks! Sometimes we think about doing a project so long we just have to do it no matter how long it takes. After I stitched out the first hexagon I couldn’t quit.
