Search for Gift 2012

And here it is upon us again, the end of yet another year. 2012 will remain memorable for me always, its the year I had to step away from being a wife and became a widow. Somehow I cringe writing that but I must face reality. Seven months later, and I still turn around, thinking I heard that laughter, heard that clearing of the throat, or that soft humming. I so much wish that we could hold onto moments in life but time marches on, without a care for anyone or anything. Of all the things that I have learned in the last few years, and the one that is so extremely obvious…enjoy the moment. I have no regrets as I led an extraordinary life with an extraordinary person and I’m happy for the memories.

The tradition that I started years ago, of ending my year with a special gift for my friends around the world, continues still. It is my way to say “thanks” for all the support shown by you throughout the year. It is a challenge for me to find the perfect gift, I will admit, but it comes from the heart. This year, I started out thinking of something simple. Little did I know that finding that simple something would be a journey in itself!

Initially, a branch was created and that is where my “writer’s block” or should I say “artist’s block” hit me. I could envision simple ornaments hanging from a branch, but couldn’t see any further. I finally put away the branch and went on to draw simple items, a wreath, an ornament, a stocking….and that is when it hit me. Ofcourse, create the designs in such a way that they could hang from the branch. And so, dear friends…here are some very simple yet special gifts for you. The designs can be stitched by themselves or hanging from the branch. There are eleven designs, somehow I couldn’t stop…so I also created some corners. They are always so neat to embroider onto napkins or even gift tags.

I wish everyone a great happy holiday season. Much love and hugs to all, Sadia

Thank you so much Sadia. This has been a rough year for me – so hard to know
my hubby is here in person but seldom really knows me. I try to look on the bright
side of life and reflect on the wonderful years we have had together. We will soon
be married 61 years – so the Lord has blessed us.
Take care.

My goodness, you are generous, but you have always been. I love all of your creations and never hesitate to introduce embroiders to your website. They are immediately impressed. This has not been an easy year for me–moved closer to one of our children because I will soon need help with my husband of 59 years–my best friend. We are on a journey withAlzheimer’s and it has robbed us of so much. But like you, I have my memories. Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year. Thank you.

DanielaDecember 9th, 2012 at 7:36 pm

And I wish you a happy holiday season and I thank you so much for the gorgeous set. I love the wreath you’ve done as a sample, just lovely with those metallic berries.

Judy EsterleinDecember 9th, 2012 at 7:41 pm

My dear Sadia: I, as well as so many others, know exactly how you are feeling during this period of readjustment to life and hang on to the memories and friends and relatives that help you along this path, and life will become a little easier. I know, even to this day, if I happen to see a car in line somewhere that was like Bill’s my heart leaps and I think he is coming home. So, my view on this is this is what keeps our loved ones close to our hearts and warms our thoughts every day.

Thank you so much for your lovely gift. I have enjoyed every one of them. And, happy holidays to you, and you will begin to enjoy them someday.

StephanieDecember 9th, 2012 at 7:43 pm

Thank you so much Sadia! I’ve spent all day looking for just the right decoration to put on a stocking for my son and couldn’t find anything. Then I see your beautiful designs and they’re all just what I was looking for. I know Christmas won’t be easy for you this year but please know you’re in my prayers.

Leah VercellonoDecember 9th, 2012 at 8:00 pm

Oh Sadia, your creativity is not lost–the designs are just beautiful. I feel your pain, Christmas Eve it is nine months since my husband passed–a month shy of our 53rd anniversary. I have been busy stitching beautiful ornaments for Christmas for many friends and now for our entire Church congregation. Reaching out to people seems to give me purpose and satisfation. Have thought of you many times and you are in my daily prayers. Like you, memories, especially of our extensive travels sustain me day by day. He had been diagnosed seven years prior and I feel that we had “seven bonus years” and thankful for them. May you find peace daily. God Bless,
Leah

Sadia, Sadia you choose a perfect day to extend your Christmas gift to us! John like you girl, are such giving people. My world and our family were brightened the day we met at the gas station! Best memories of my life. I am blessed with tiny glimpses of your world, I pray the joy of all your memories can flood in on those low days. Funny how many times I pray John watches over you and today was just that way in church. I was thinking Christmas season and had no idea it was his B-day. I have no idea or can say I know how you feel, but you have taught me to embrace much more. Love to you, and thank you.

Terri BeckDecember 9th, 2012 at 10:59 pm

Sadia
As I read your story I can’t help but realize just how fortunate I am. I myself have had a couple of really bad years with my health. It has been declining for several years but last year I had a life threatening emergency surgery and then complications that almost took me as well. I have been disabled for 23 years and I truly believe that most men would have left me a long time ago. But being the Godly man that my Dear Husband is he has stuck it out through many surgeries and lots of illnesses with long nights and times of holding me as I cry in pain and or fear. I am truly blessed to have him. I can’t even imagine what you must be going through but I did see what it did to my Mom as my Dad passed at 59. I will be praying for you to have more and more peace every day and that the new year will bring you happiness you would have never thought possible.

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with all of us. You are quiet the generous lady as well. I love your designs. I wish I didn’t have so many Doctors wanting my money because I sure would be giving it to you instead.

Much Love and Many Blessings to you,
Terri

Thank you for all the beautiful ornaments and for your generosity thinking about gifts for us when you have lost so much this year. My husband turned 80 in June and having gone to the depths when my mother suffered through dementia for years, I have a great fear at times but then remember to be happy in this present moment. May God bring you healing and only the happy memories in the future.
