Victorian Patchwork collection is reminiscent of early American patchwork quilts. It is also known as Crazy Quilting, a conglomeration of randomly pieced fabrics with embroidered embellishments on every seam and open area. No batting or regular quilting was ever required to create these masterpieces. Rather the whole process of piecing, embellishing, quilting and backing was done altogether. Embellishing took place of quilting and the front and back were worked together to create the quilt. Fancy fabrics like velvets, silks, plush satin, wools etc were used to create the blocks. Each piece of fabric was randomly placed without any pattern making the whole process so very unique. Victorian Patchwork is an imitation of those “Crazy Quilts”. The blocks are created in such a way that you can use multiple fabrics or one single fabric. You also have the choice of using the block in a regular quilt or as a patchwork finished block (freestanding). The technique is very simple and comparative to machine appliqué. Each block also comes to you as a plain patchwork block as well as an already embellished block. The collections also have several motifs for you to use randomly according to your choice. Fancy fabrics, cottons, regular embroidery threads and fancy threads can be used to create these blocks. Please do review the project page showing the technique and a sample for you to download and test for yourself. These designs cannot be resized properly and neither can they be split. Please have a look at the collections below. Click on each of the collections to view the designs within. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did creating them.
