“East and West, North and South, in the heavens and on earth there have been dragons for every culture.” The Dragon has played an important part in myths and religions since pre-historic times. The history of dragons goes back at least six thousand years, and there are dragon tales and legends from every continent. In almost every culture, and all throughout history, there are stories of these mythical and magical creatures called dragons. A dragon is defined as a legendary monster usually conceived as a huge, bat-winged, fire-breathing, scaly lizard or snake with a barbed tail. Legends tell us the age of the dragons by their color. Gold dragons were considered to be a thousand years old, whereas the blue/green dragons were only eight hundred years old. The red dragon is considered to be the youngest of all the dragons probably only four/five hundred years old. Myths and Dragons is a series of collections of mythological creatures and dragons. In the first of the series I have presented the dragon in a mythical and magical sense. The dragon comes to you in three colors: gold/orange, red/gray and blue/green and in three different size versions: Home embroidery machines (5x7 hoop-5 parts) and commercial machines (12x12 hoop) and semi commercial machines:PR/EMP hoop (2 parts). |

M&D1a For 5x7 hoop machines-the design is split in five sections. Each section can very easily be joined to the other to create the actual design as shown above. Each section comes with alignment stitches and basting lines with detailed instructions. The five sections joined as above create a 15 1/2" tall dragon with the width of 11". The five sections can be manipulated to create different designs as shown in the project page. The design comes in three colors: dragon in gold/orange, dragon in blues/greens, and dragon in reds. These designs are the only one in the first series that can be manipulated to create a smaller or larger dragon.
